Founder & President
Kelly Kirkendoll, President of Thrive PR, is an accomplished communications, public relations and marketing expert with more than 25 years of experience. Her career started in corporate marketing, and then she spent 6 years as the Director of PR/Marketing for a start-up company, where she was on the core team that took the company public. In 2003, she founded Thrive PR, where she and her team work with business owners, nonprofit leaders and associations across a broad range of industries. She specializes in telling clients’ stories in ways that help them expand their reach, attract the right customers and grow.
During her career, Kelly has worked across a wide variety of industries, including: professional services, nonprofits, associations, the arts, restaurants, construction, travel, retail, roofing, beauty, sports, telecommunications, franchises and banking. Her experience spans virtually every facet of PR and marketing, including strategy, branding, media relations, marketing communications, social media, influencer relations, email marketing, advertising, product marketing, competitive analysis, pricing analysis and more. She and her team use this experience to manage clients’ ongoing public relations, brand management, social media and marketing communications needs, allowing them to focus on what they do best: running their businesses.
One of Kelly’s specialties is media relations, and her PR credentials include gaining media coverage for her clients by CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fortune magazine, Dallas Morning News, Good Morning Texas, BusinessWeek, Chicago Tribune and more. In the past, she has also worked as a regular contributing writer to 2 magazines and has been included in the National Directory of Editors and Writers, featuring America’s top editors and writers for hire. Kelly was also a founding board member of Cuisine for Healing, a Fort Worth-based nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers nutritious, delicious food to cancer patients in need. In recent years, Kelly has also become a food blogger/influencer at Kitchen Gone Rogue and a professional food photographer.
Kelly received her BBA in Marketing from Ohio University, summa cum laude, speaks to local and national organizations and has called various places in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (including McKinney, Fort Worth and Addison) home for the past 20 years.
Director – Branding & Graphic Design
Laura is an award-winning graphic designer and an experienced marketing and communications expert. Early in her career, Laura worked in advertising — on the other side of the camera — as a model with the prestigious Manhattan-based Eileen Ford Agency. For 10 years, she travelled the world, working on a team with the world’s top advertising agencies, cosmetic companies, clothing designers, magazines, layout artists and photographers to get the best shots for ad campaigns or editorial features. Later in her career, she has served as the Marketing Director for a municipal Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and as VP of Communications, PR and Government Relations for the fastest growing city in the USA ( McKinney, Texas) and as Vice-President of Marketing and Communications for DFW Spa Importers. In her various roles, she has managed everything from graphic design to branding, advertising, marketing communications, social media marketing and public relations. She has also served as Art Director for numerous magazines in the health/beauty/spa industry.
In 2006, Laura struck out on her own and is one of Thrive PR’s ongoing partners. She loves beautiful visuals, but fully understands that just “making something pretty” doesn’t mean it’s going to get results. Great marketing requires business experience and an understanding of the relationship between good design/marketing/communications and the bottom line! Laura holds a degree from the George Washington University, grew up as part of a military family (living around the U.S. and around the world), currently lives in North Texas and enjoys creating fine art and spending time with her husband and fur babies.
PR & Account Manager
Coleen brings 30 years of business experience to her role at Thrive PR. After spending the first 20 years of her career in the corporate world, Coleen struck out on her own in 2002 and then joined the Thrive PR team several years ago. Her background includes everything from marketing support to project management, public relations, human resources and payroll management.
With her broad experience, entrepreneurial spirit, creative problem-solving skills and gifted knack for organization, Coleen is an invaluable member of the Thrive PR team. She manages the author/speaker booking process for Thrive PR’s clients and assists with public relations, email marketing, project management, invoicing and more. Coleen lives in Fort Worth and enjoys spending time with her family.
Social Media & Communications Manager
Margaret is a marketing, communications and advertising Jill of all trades. She has worked in many settings, including food and service industries, advertising agencies, start-ups and nonprofits. Her true passion is people, learning their stories and experiences, successfully translating those stories into compelling campaigns, while developing long-lasting and impactful relationships with everyone she interacts with. Excelling at giving a concise, recognizable and engaging voice to brands through copy and design, she loves being part of Thrive PR’s team.
Margaret received two B.A. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Journalism, Advertising and Media Studies with an Ad/PR emphasis, and Psychology, along with a minor in Studio Art and certificate in Digital Arts and Culture. A once Wisconsin native recently turned California explorer, Margaret loves creating art, gallivanting the globe with her new husky puppy, diving into thrillers and whipping up new recipes.
Marketing Communications Manager
Veronica brings 20 years of marketing communications skills to the Thrive PR team, with extensive experience in strategy, planning, marketing communications (social media, websites, email, print), community outreach, media relations, fundraising and more. Most of her career has been spent in the nonprofit sector, where she has focused on building relationships through authentic, impactful communications. She has worked on marketing projects large and small, from programs and events to large-scale fundraising races … to the sale of seats from Soldier Field prior to its renovation in 2002!
Veronica received her BA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She currently lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband, two sons and their dog. She is an avid reader, a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, an amateur gardener and recently took up knitting as a pandemic hobby.
PR/Media Relations Specialist
Jessica Gallagher is a marketing and public relations professional with 20 years of experience. She spent the first half of her career working for large public relations firms, including Edelman Public Relations (in both New York and Chicago) and Golin/Harris Chicago. She managed product launches and coordinated media relations for associations and for medical/health, food and consumer lifestyle brands. During the second half of her career, she has worked as a contractor for a wide range of industries and clients, continuing to focus on media relations but also on influencer relations and social media campaigns. Jessica brings valuable media and influencer relations expertise to Thrive PR.
A graduate of Ohio University, she received a B.S. degree in Journalism and currently resides in McKinney, Texas with her husband and two children.
Social Media & PR Specialist
Tricia is a nationally published journalist, content creator and experienced small business owner. With a decade of writing experience with multiple community newspapers in North Texas, plus a previous background in commercial insurance underwriting, she possesses broad knowledge across a wide variety of industries. In addition to founding the number one culinary tourism experience in her community of McKinney, Tricia is a passionate writer, content creator and social media specialist who brings valuable expertise, insights and know-how to the Thrive PR team.
She is a veteran of the United States Army who completed training at Fort Jackson, SC and, as a Reservist, was assigned to the 327th Military Police Battalion and the 86th U.S. Army Reserve Command. Outside of work, Tricia enjoys travel, history, current affairs and time with her family, including their new puppy.
